In this video I walk you through how to get started with Altium Designer Develop 2026—what it is, where to download it, and how the install flow actually works from the Altium Develop web interface. Once you’re approved, you land in the Develop ecosystem (the online workspace), and from there you can hit Install to download the .exe, run the wizard, and let it authenticate through your browser. I also explain why I keep the shared documents in the Public folder: it’s cleaner, and I’m less likely to lose track of where my projects live. Then I zoom out and show you why Altium Develop matters beyond “just installing Altium.” The Design Portal lets you upload projects and manufacturing data (Gerbers/ODB++), view schematics/PCB/3D in the browser, and pull part data straight from the BOM view. I call out the BOM Portal specifically because I’m done with the spreadsheet nightmare—5 to 10 spreadsheets per manufacturer is not an exaggeration. I also highlight the Requirements Portal (finally, hardware requirements that actually integrate with the design tool) and MCAD CoDesigner for real ECAD/MCAD change flow instead of vague measurements and PowerPoint-driven chaos. Bottom line: this is the modern workflow I’ve wanted for years, and I’m building a starter series to get you productive fast.
