I’ve been doing YouTube for over two years while working a full-time job, staying active, and most recently becoming a dad—so in this video I break down what finally stopped me from wasting months spinning my wheels. The biggest shift was getting crystal clear on my “why.” For me it’s simple: I genuinely love cameras and making videos about cameras, and that passion is what kept me consistent long before there was any financial incentive. From there, I talk about the practical stuff that actually makes consistency possible: setting a realistic upload frequency (I moved from weekly to every two weeks), and constantly reassessing it as life changes. The real game-changer has been building a system—right now I’m using Notion to manage ideation, research, scripting, shooting, and editing, plus a two-column script layout that separates A-roll from B-roll. I also walk through how I identified my bottleneck (limited filming time in my living room) and redesigned my workflow around it by recording voiceover first, editing earlier, and only filming the on-camera lines I actually need. Add templates and presets in DaVinci Resolve, a standard folder structure, and a reusable library of music/SFX/overlays, and the whole process gets cleaner, faster, and way less stressful. Most importantly: I take breaks when I need to and prioritize my physical health so I don’t burn out.
