What if you could create Lightroom presets by literally typing one sentence? In this video I show you how I’m using ChatGPT to generate full Lightroom preset settings—exposure, tone curve, HSL, color grading, the whole thing—without me sitting there guessing with sliders. I’ll walk you through my basic workflow: I prompt ChatGPT with the look I want (like warming skin tones and pushing fall greens/oranges), then either manually copy the values into Lightroom or just have it generate an XMP file that I can import directly. I also show how to get better results by being more specific: tell it what kind of photo it’s for, and even what camera you shot on (like a Sony a7 IV RAW) so it can make smarter color decisions. Another tip is uploading an image—unedited or even already edited—and asking ChatGPT to analyze the lighting and style, then spit out a preset that matches. And I’m very clear on my preset “ideology”: presets are a base, not the finished edit. You’ll still want to tweak exposure, white balance, and sometimes do masking, but with a bit of re-prompting and tweaking, you can get some surprisingly solid results.
