In this video, I’m breaking down exactly how much money my channel made in my first year being monetized on YouTube—and more importantly, where it actually came from. Most people assume the YouTube Partner Program is the only way to earn, but that’s so not the case. I walk through the four revenue streams I used: sponsorships, digital products, affiliate links, and AdSense from the YouTube Partnership Program. I also share some real context from my analytics so you can set realistic expectations. It took me nearly two years to hit the 1,000 subs / 4,000 watch hours requirement, and even this past year I wasn’t super active (13 long-form videos and 28 Shorts). Still, I made just over $3,600 total: just under $500 from sponsorships, $1,300+ from my Lightroom presets (priced cheap on purpose), $715 from affiliate links, and roughly ~$1,000 from YouTube ads (with AdSense payouts showing a bit higher than YouTube’s report). The big takeaway: you can start earning before monetization, and these income streams scale as your views and audience grow.
