About This Video

For more than 9 months I’ve been running the Adam Audio T8Vs as my main studio monitors, and about 4 weeks ago I added the Adam Audio T10S subwoofer—so in this video I break down what that combo is really like in a real home-studio setup. I go over the T8Vs features (two-way design, the signature U-ART ribbon tweeters, basic bass/treble room controls), what I like about their neutral/critical sound, and the small stuff that can annoy you—like the un-rasterized volume knob, the fact they don’t get crazy loud, and that slight hiss when no audio is playing. Then I get into why I even wanted a sub when the T8Vs are “rated” low: in practice you’re not getting clean sub information under ~50–60 Hz, and that’s exactly the range I want to feel when I’m producing. I cover the T10S controls (phase, crossover 80–120 Hz, ins/outs, and the footswitch bypass), how I wired it up, and the practical setup tips that get you 90% there (speaker placement, ear level, equilateral triangle, wall distance, and decoupling). Bottom line: for me as a producer, the T10S is absolutely worth it because it extends the low end in a way that makes making beats more fun—even if my room is mostly untreated and not “perfect” for critical mixing.
