In this video I’m doing proper first impressions with a bunch of new-to-me makeup, and honestly… it turned into a bit of a Kmart moment. I start with the Maybelline Grippy Serum Primer (it’s sticky, but not in an icky way), then test the OXX Silk Finish Luminous Foundation in 3.8 — the one that’s meant to dupe Armani Luminous Silk. I apply one side with a sponge and the other with a brush, and while it looks stunning and super skin-like, I’m calling it what it is: light coverage. Not medium, not buildable-to-full. I pair it with the matching OXX concealer in 3.0 and this is where I get excited — it gives me that extra coverage while still looking natural, and it genuinely doesn’t look like “under $12” makeup. I set lightly with my ELF Halo Glow Powder (it’s that soft, slightly luminous finish that’s better for dry/mature skin), then quickly throw on my go-to drugstore bronzer and blush so we can focus on the fun bits: the all-metallic OXX 18 pan palette and the Kmart Wavy Lash mascara. To finish, I line with my Kevyn Aucoin lip definer and let the Maybelline Lifter Glaze in Acai Glaze be the star — it’s that perfect balm-gloss hybrid I already loved in another shade. Then I share my early Christmas present to myself: Jo Malone Midnight Musk & Amber, which is musky, mature, and absolutely divine. Overall? Everything was a win, but the concealer was top dog.
