In this video I’m testing the OneXPlayer Apex and running a Cyberpunk benchmark because that’s what everyone actually wants to know: how fast this thing is. First impressions, the Apex feels really nice in hand compared to GPD—there’s this rubberized texture that makes it feel a bit more premium, and it’s still lightweight enough that I can hold it up with one hand. The screen also looks really good, and it should have VRR, which is a big deal for smoother gameplay on a handheld. The bigger story is performance. The Apex is basically the fastest handheld you can get right now, running AMD’s Ryzen AI 395+ (their fastest chip at the moment) with AMD’s strongest integrated CPU/GPU combo. I’m seeing what I’d call “4060-level” performance for a handheld, especially when it’s being pushed hard—over 120W—which is honestly a lot. In the Cyberpunk benchmark on the Steam Deck preset, I’m seeing crazy numbers (like 120+ FPS peaks and around 118 FPS at one point), and it’s running way better than I expected. Some of that could be resolution, some of it could be wattage differences versus other devices I tested, and liquid cooling might also be helping—but either way, it’s kind of killing it.
