For about seven months I’ve been sitting on a secret, and now the cat’s fully out of the bag: my Pro Acryl Rogue Hobbies Signature Series paint set is finally out worldwide. In this video I walk you through how the whole collab happened with Monument Hobbies, how I narrowed a pile of chaotic ideas down to six paints, and why each colour made the cut. I introduce every bottle properly—Ultramarine (single pigment and so blue it’s basically the vanta black of blue), Bright Green (my ideal punchy ‘90s goblin vibe), Dark Hot Pink (the end of my decade-long hunt for a real saturated pink), Dark Turquoise (my Rainbow Warriors obsession in a bottle), Orange Red (the most saturated red before it tips into orange), and Bismuth Yellow (single pigment, absurdly bright, and a mixing monster). Then we get into the “hidden potential” bit: colour theory and mixing. You’ve got RBY primaries and also CMY primaries in this set, and I’m firmly on team CMY because it gives you a brighter, more saturated spectrum. I show some dead-simple two-paint mixes (neon chartreuse, a punchy orange, multiple purples, and a gorgeous deep rose), and then I push it further by adding the two paints everyone already owns—black and white—to control value. With just those extras, I colour-match a bunch of Citadel paints surprisingly closely, which honestly shocked me, and it proves the point: used right, these six paints can cover a ridiculous amount of your collection.
