Last week I attended one of the BIGGEST tournaments in the Warhammer calendar, the AOS World's Team Championship! But I wasn't there to play games... I always hear stories about 'that guy' in relation to people who play Warhammer competitively and, as someone who has only played 'Casual' games I was intrigued at how this kind of event would look when over 230+ competitive players from around the world come together to play their favourite game with the intention of becoming the 'best team in the world' This video is kind of a 'Vibe check' both from you guys who sent me your thoughts an opinions on the subject AND the people at the event who were being their authentic selves and I hope that everyone enjoys it and watches it with an open mind and heart :) CHAPTERS! 00:00 - Intro 02:22 - What IS AoS Worlds? 03:29 - LETS GO!! 06:21 - 'Competitve players dont paint...' 09:06 - 'Competitve players arent fun...' 12:23 - 'Why I Hate Competitve Players...' 18:24 - 'Competitve players are bad losers...' 21:00 - Outro! __________ https://monumenthobbies.com/?ref=%7BRogueHobbies%7D - Monument Hobbies paint Affiliate link! About This Video

Competitive Warhammer has always felt like a bit of a touchy subject to me—beardy, cheesy, meta-chasing “that guy” energy and all that. So I went to one of the biggest events on the calendar, the Age of Sigmar World’s Team Championship, to do a proper vibe check. I wasn’t there to play (I’m a tourist here, and the internet scares me), but I was there doing event coverage and judging the painting competition—meaning I got to spend a full week trapped in a hotel with 230+ competitive players from 26 countries and see what it’s actually like. What I found was… not what the horror stories usually promise. The vibe was genuinely brilliant: people were excited to see their friends, teams were repping their countries with jerseys and mascots, and the whole thing felt like the Warhammer Olympics—if the Olympics had more bananas and a Nutella machine. I also want to put the “competitive players don’t paint” myth in the bin. I walked past hundreds of armies, and the quality was absurdly high—conversions, themes, lore love, and not a single grey army in sight. Yes, everyone was trying their absolute hardest to win, but I saw handshakes, hugs, celebrating opponents’ wins, and a room that absolutely exploded when Denmark took their third championship in a row. My takeaway: competitive AoS isn’t automatically toxic—it can be frighteningly positive, loud, and weirdly wholesome.
