I love two things pretty openly on my channel and that is toys and old Warhammer... Well in this video those two worlds are going to collide in the weirdest way as I turn my favourite (and CUTEST) Warhammer chibi toy into one of my favourite old Warhammer Inquisitors; Obiwan Sherlock Clouseau! It was a wild ride making this piece come together without it turning into a horrific anime nightmare so I hope you all enjoy the video as much as I enjoyed making it :D CHAPTERS! 00:00 - Intro 02:17 - How am I going to do this... 04:35 - Colouring in John Blanche! 06:15 - I ACTUALLY start painting 10:31 - ...The Face... 13:47 - Makin' it OLD LOOKIN! 15:33 - THE REVEAL!! 16:11 - Outro! __________ https://monumenthobbies.com/?ref=%7BRogueHobbies%7D - Monument Hobbies paint Affiliate link! About This Video

I’m a Warhammer fan with an unholy love of toys, so in this video I let those two worlds collide in the weirdest way possible: I take my favourite (and CUTEST) little Bandai Warhammer chibi Inquisitor and repaint her into a homage to peak Rogue Trader nonsense—Obi-Wan Sherlock Clouseau. The goal was simple on paper: keep that old-school John Blanche vibe, but somehow avoid turning the whole thing into a horrific anime nightmare. Somehow, we got away with it. I start by “colouring in” the original Rogue Trader art to plan the palette—silvery gold armour, classic red-and-black Inquisition jacket, leather bits, and copper/gold accents—then I get into the practical stuff: yes, you should prime these toys. The raw plastic can be weirdly hydrophobic, so I hit it with regular old Chaos Black and treat it like a (much bigger) mini from there. I end up accidentally choosing pain by doing loads of non-metallic metal, try non-metallic copper for the first time, wrestle a massive leather hat, then cheat responsibly with one thin glaze of Gore-Grunta Fur and some micro-scratches. The big boss fight is the face: I pull inspiration from nendoroids, keep it simple and cute, push the eyes a bit higher so it doesn’t look like a full-on battle baby, then add freckles, an Imperial eagle tattoo, and some nasty scars—because grimdark. Finally, I slap on the iconic yin-yang and checker patterns to really sell the Rogue Trader homage, and reveal a chibi Inquisitor who’s ready to put the “cute” in… well… “cutehammer.”
