About This Video

In this video I show you how to install Google Slides as a desktop app, so you can launch it like a regular program instead of digging through browser tabs. It’s quick, it’s simple, and it gives you that cleaner, app-like window for a more distraction-free workspace. I walk through both supported options—Chrome and Edge—because either one gets the job done on PC (and the steps are basically the same idea). On Chrome, I go to Google Slides, make sure I’m logged in (check your profile icon), then hit the three-dot menu, hover over “Cast, save, and share,” and click “Install this page as an app.” You’ll get a little dialog where you can rename it, then you click Install. On Edge, I do the same login check, then three-dot menu → “More tools” → “Apps” → “Install this site as an app,” click Install, and then choose how you want it pinned (taskbar, Start menu, desktop shortcut, or auto-start). Once it’s installed, I double-click the new Slides icon and it opens Google Slides as its own app window—same Google Slides, just faster to get to.
