About This Video

In this PC tutorial, I show you how to hyperlink text to an email address in Gmail so your message looks cleaner and more professional. Instead of pasting a plain email address into the body, you can turn any word or phrase into a clickable link. When someone clicks it, it opens a new Compose window on their device with the email address already filled in. I’m doing this on a desktop PC in Gmail, and the steps are quick: start composing your email, highlight the text you want to link, then go down to the little chain icon (Insert link). In the dialog box that pops up, type the email address you want and hit Apply. As long as it’s a proper email address, it’ll come through as a hyperlink once the email is sent. I also point out how to check what it’s linked to by clicking it, and how to change or remove the link if you need to.
