In this tutorial I show you how to install Google Gemini as a desktop app on your PC, so you can launch it like a normal program without keeping a browser tab open. I start on my desktop (yeah, it’s cluttered—don’t worry about it) and show what the Gemini app looks like when it’s installed. It’s basically the same Gemini you’re used to, just running in its own app window for quicker access. I also quickly demonstrate how to uninstall it in Windows 11 first, so you can see the whole process from start to finish. Then I walk through two simple install methods: one in Chrome using the 3-dot menu → “Cast, save, and share” → “Install page as app,” and one in Edge using the 3-dot menu → “More tools” → “Apps” → “Install this site as an app.” In Edge, you also get options for where you want the shortcut—taskbar, Start, desktop, or even auto-start—so just pick what fits your workflow and you’re done.
