About This Video

In this video I show you how to install Google Analytics as a desktop app, so you can open it like a real app instead of hunting for a browser tab every time. I’m on my Windows desktop (yeah, it’s cluttered—don’t worry about it), and I show what the finished result looks like: a Google Analytics icon you can double-click to launch your dashboard in its own window. I walk through two quick methods: Chrome and Microsoft Edge. In Chrome, you log into Google Analytics, hit the three-dot menu, hover over “Cast, save, and share,” and click “Install page as app,” then install. In Edge, you go to the three-dot menu, hover “More tools,” then “Apps,” and choose “Install this site as an app.” After it installs, Edge also lets you pick where it shows up—taskbar, Start menu, desktop shortcut, and even auto-start on login—so use your own judgment and set it up the way you actually work.
