About This Video

In this quick PC tutorial, I show you exactly how to enable or disable browser sounds in the Opera GX web browser. Opera GX has built-in sound effects for stuff like clicking links and opening tabs, and if that gets annoying (or you just want a quieter setup), you can shut it off in seconds. I’m doing this on a desktop PC, and the steps are the same idea for most Windows setups. I start by going to the little red O logo in the upper-left, opening Settings, and then staying on the GX features/basics area on the left pane. From there, you scroll down to Browser sounds. Inside that menu, you can toggle all browser sounds on or off, adjust the overall volume with a slider, and even enable/disable individual sound effects if you only want certain ones. I also point out the reset-to-default option in case you’ve changed a bunch of sounds and want to undo it. And right below Browser sounds, I quickly show Keyboard sounds too—one simple toggle for that clicking noise.
