About This Video

In this video I show you the quickest way to turn a Microsoft Copilot conversation into a Word document (DOCX) on a Windows PC. I’m literally doing it on my desktop: open Copilot, pull up the chat you want to save, and then scroll all the way to the bottom of the conversation. That’s the key part—because Copilot will even tell you to look for an export button up in the top right… and in my case, that button just isn’t there. Down at the bottom you’ll see a little row of icons (thumbs up/down, share, copy), plus a sideways arrow with a dropdown. When you hover it, it says “Export this as a file.” Click that, choose “Export as a Word document,” and then wait—sometimes 30 seconds, sometimes a minute. When it’s done, a download option shows up, and once you download it, Word opens automatically with your chat converted. One heads-up from my experience: if your chat includes tables, Copilot doesn’t always convert those perfectly, but for normal text it does a fairly decent job.
