In this video I show you, step-by-step, how to add a custom image to the New Tab page in Mozilla Firefox on a Windows PC. I start by opening Firefox, clicking the little plus icon to open a fresh New Tab, and then jumping straight into the customization panel by clicking the pencil icon in the lower-right corner. From there, you can actually clean up the page a lot—Firefox lets you toggle off things like Weather, Shortcuts, and Recommended Stories right from that sidebar. I also walk through how to deal with “Recent Activity,” because that one isn’t just a simple toggle in the same spot. You have to hit “manage more settings,” scroll down, and then either choose how many rows you want or uncheck the box to turn it off completely. Once your New Tab is cleaned up, adding your own background is easy: pencil icon again, then under Wallpapers choose “Upload an image,” pick your picture, and open it. That’s it—your New Tab page is now personalized, and you can keep it as simple (or as busy) as you want.
