About This Video

In this tutorial I show you how to add a custom image to the New Tab page in the Brave web browser on a Windows desktop PC. I keep it simple: open Brave, hit the plus icon to open a new tab, then go to the gear wheel in the upper-right corner to bring up the customization dialog. From the Background Image tab, make sure “show background image” is enabled, then use “upload from device” to pick the picture you want and apply it. After the background is set, I also run through the stuff most people want to shut off to clean up the page. I toggle off New Tab Page ads, turn off Top Sites, and show you where the clock toggle is if you don’t want it displayed. I also go down to Cards and toggle those off, and finally I show you how to disable the Brave News card by hovering over it, clicking the three-dot menu, and choosing disable. End result: your own image, and a New Tab page that’s as minimal (or as busy) as you want.
