About This Video

What’s going on guys—E.Bibbs here, Mr. RemoteLife. In this video I’m assembling the Crystal Cove glass cabinet from the Studio McGee line at Target, and I’m doing it in a new format you guys asked for: straight into a time-lapse with my tips layered on top. If you’ve been struggling with the instructions or you’re just trying to put it together the easy way (without wobble, missing parts, or stripped screws), this is the walkthrough to follow. I start with what I always do on big box builds: unbox everything and inspect every part and screw before you commit. I’ve been burned too many times getting to the end and realizing something’s missing. From there, I build the frame by laying a glass side down on the floor (use a moving blanket if you’re on a rough surface), attaching the base legs, then setting the other side on top so the holes line up clean. I show you how the hinge side goes to the front, why the cutout needs to face the back, and how to make sure all the back holes line up. I also explain why I use an electric screwdriver on low torque—don’t grab a drill and blast these screws, because you can overtighten and strip real wood. For the back panel, I use a middle screw as a guide when I’m working solo. Simple cabinet, nice hardware, and it gives a clean, luxe feel—especially if you line up multiple cabinets for that elongated look.
