About This Video

All right good people—Ep 3 is a straight progress check from the school studio build. I’m moving and grooving while keeping the noise down because school is in session, so I’m knocking out the basics: assembling the desk, getting a monitor up, building out the rack, and labeling cables (because it wouldn’t be me if the labels weren’t on point). I also started laying out the room and the booth, getting that glass up, and planning where the rest of the acoustic treatment is going to live. On the sound side, I’m dialing in the booth with panels, a door seal, and rugs to soften up that concrete-under-carpet situation. The room is already tightening up—still has a little action, which is what I want, because this isn’t a dead studio space. The big surprise is vent noise: it’s a school HVAC, so I’m not changing ductwork, but I’m thinking mic placement and workarounds to keep it usable. Next up, I’m finishing the wall treatment (Strata), cleaning up cables, making more custom runs, and getting everything talking—remote life style.
