About This Video

What’s going on guys—EBS here, Mr. RemoteLife. In this video I’m assembling the Little Seeds Monarch Hill dresser, but the real sauce is the soft-close drawer hack. The stock slides that come with this thing are not soft close, and honestly they don’t even close clean unless you push dead-center (and who grabs a drawer from the middle every single time?). So I swap the factory slides for aftermarket soft-close slides to get that smooth glide, kill the rocking effect, and make this “cheap furniture” feel way more high-end. I walk you through the unbox, parts layout, carcass build, and building all three drawers. I also show you my rookie mistake: I started marking new lines and ignoring the manufacturer’s predefined holes, and I didn’t realize I jacked it up until the drawers wouldn’t seat right—gap at the bottom, hitting at the top, the whole thing. The fix was simple but annoying: move all the slides back down to the factory holes and make sure everything is level. Once I did that, boom—everything lined up and the drawers slid in the way they’re supposed to. End result: a budget-friendly piece that works great as a nightstand, with that “luxe” feel and smoother drawer function—even if you don’t have kids.
