For Vlogmas Day 18 (and my 30 before 30 list), I finally did a full suburban thrifting day—and I went in with a list, a plan, and the most optimistic “I’m only getting what I need” mindset… which is always hilarious once I’m actually inside a thrift store. I hit four thrift stores (I had six or seven planned, but time is literally a vortex in thrift stores and I black out), and I tried to balance local spots with bigger chain stores. The crowds shocked me for a Wednesday, but the deals were unreal—like 50% off days, Christmas markdowns, and even a surprise coupon that took my total from “over $100” to around $50. This vlog is basically treasure-hunting therapy: I’m looking for holiday hosting pieces (Christmas Eve table vibes), frames for my gallery wall, cozy loungewear, and—my favorite—fabric to finally start working toward a quilt. I found a bunch of gifts (so I kept some things private), but I also scored the cutest vintage-y frames, thrifted craft supplies I refuse to pay full price for, cookbooks, and the most beautiful stash of vintage fabric that feels like it has a story behind it. My biggest takeaway: go on a weekday, check every aisle (I missed an entire fabric section before!), and always have a DIY backup plan so your hosting prep doesn’t turn into stressful chaos.
