About This Video

This video is basically my “last day in my twenties” little time capsule. Because my birthday is January 2nd, New Year’s Eve feels like I’m saying goodbye to an actual age (29) and an entire decade at the same time. I spend the day at home doing end-of-year things—planning, reflecting, tidying, crafting—and just letting it feel restful so I can re-inspire myself for what’s next. I also dig through a heavy thrifted memory basket full of photos and old playbills, and it turns into this really sweet reminder that every decade is formative and you don’t “leave behind” what you learned—you bring it with you. I talk a lot about what my 20s looked like for me: experimenting with everything (friends, hobbies, travel, lifestyle, even different versions of myself) and slowly figuring out what I actually like versus what I thought I was “supposed” to like. Going into my 30s, I feel way more focused on balance, boundaries, and changing my definition of success—especially as a self-employed creative. I’m not interested in sacrificing my whole life just to chase more money; I want the flexibility to work hard and also have a real life (yes, including grandma hobbies like embroidery). I also get honest about the fear of getting older, the pressure of “accomplishing things before 30,” and why I’m choosing excitement and a fresh start over nostalgia.
