In this video, I show you how I track Square Appointments booking forms with Meta (Facebook) Conversion API using Zapier—so you don’t need Google Tag Manager at all. Recently I got a project where the main Square website was fine for GTM, but the appointment booking flow is a different section, and I couldn’t connect that appointment part with GTM properly. So to solve the tracking gap, I used Zapier as the bridge between Square Appointments and Facebook CAPI. I walk you through creating a Zap where the trigger is “New Appointment” in Square. Whenever a visitor books an appointment, the Zap fires and sends a Lead event to Facebook Conversion API. Inside the Facebook CAPI action, I configure the action source as website, select the business account and pixel, and set the event name as Lead (you can choose other events depending on your business). I also cover setting event time and event ID, and then I verify everything inside Facebook Events Manager by checking the Lead event in the pixel overview. The main takeaway: if Square Appointments blocks your GTM setup, Zapier is a clean way to get server-side-style conversion tracking running fast.
