I wanted to make a genuine video like in the good old YouTube days, when sharing your thoughts in front of a camera was enough. This video goes to all filmmakers, content creators and artists who are struggling with anxiety and over comparison with others in the industry. I hope this will brighten up your day, by knowing you’re not alone. ➥Director's Treatments, Pitch Decks & other Filmmaking Assets: https://www.lostinayaland.com/shop ➥Join my Online Academy - Her Film School: https://herfilmschool.com/ ➥Best Music at Artlist - Get 2 Months Free: http://tinyurl.com/artlist-aya 📬EMAIL lostinayaland@gmail.com for PARTNERSHIP REQUESTS Chapters: 00:00 Intro 01:21 Tip 1 03:40 Tip 2 05:42 Tip 3 06:03 Tip 4 07:05 Tip 5 10:30 Watch this 11:00 Thank you 🎥THE GEAR I USE: CINEMA CAMERA:https://www.red.com/komodo-brain-parent FAV CINEMA LENS: https://amzn.to/3vluPYl MICROPHONE: https://amzn.to/47qDMNs SHOTGUN MIC: https://amzn.to/48LO6kh YOUTUBE LIGHT: https://amzn.to/3NUe5xL LIGHT STAND: https://amzn.to/48LOm2J MONITOR: https://amzn.to/48GadIO HEAVY DUTY TRIPOD: https://amzn.to/41Oc38b 📱LET'S CONNECT! About This Video

In this video I wanted to bring back that “good old YouTube” energy—just me in front of a camera, holding the mic like it’s not a crime, and talking honestly about the inner work we have to do as creatives. I’ve been struggling with anxiety, comparison, and a pretty shitty year (I’ve been in therapy for a couple months), and I know a lot of filmmakers and content creators are carrying the same weight. So I’m sharing five lessons I literally wrote in my journal—things you probably already know, but might not be giving enough attention. I talk about valuing what you already have (yes, gear is fun, and yes, I also want the FX3 and a faster lens), and how chasing “more” can turn into a trap. I get into the content creation treadmill—how Instagram and constant short-form pressure can mess with your head—and why stepping away is sometimes the most productive thing you can do. Then I share the “artist date” idea: taking yourself out alone to spark inspiration and get out of your comfort zone. Finally, we talk about patience—because meaningful work isn’t built in a day, and your best ideas often grow in the quiet, low-tide seasons when you stop trying to be a content machine and start creating what your heart actually wants.
