About This Video

In this video I tried to “hack” my own content creation workflow by building a small full-stack tool from scratch in a day. The whole idea came from a super real pain point: writing YouTube descriptions (and timestamps) is annoying, repetitive, and somehow still takes me like 10 minutes every single upload. So I started with planning first—dumping my entire long-form vs short-form workflow, listing pain points, and forcing myself to pick an MVP instead of dreaming up a 50-feature monster. I used EdrawMind to mind map the problems → solutions, then landed on two features: a custom description template generator (the one I actually built first) and a future script development tool. I designed a quick UI on my iPad, spun up a Next.js app, used shadcn/ui to avoid ugly components, and wired up an LLM call to generate descriptions from my title + summary. Stuff broke (tokens, prompt size, random errors), so I iterated by tightening prompts and switching providers until it worked. Then I added a copy button and pushed it further by uploading an SRT transcript to auto-generate timestamps—good enough to save me time, even if not perfect. Overall: start small, automate the boring parts, and ship something I’ll actually use.
