About This Video

Six months ago I spent 10 hours debugging AI-generated code at 2:00 a.m. and the irony wasn’t lost on me—this “time saver” was stealing my time. The shift happened when I stopped treating AI like Aladdin’s magic lamp and started treating it like a tool that needs context, constraints, and a system. In this video I walk through the exact workflow that now lets me go from “blank screen” to a deployed full website in one day. I start where most people skip: planning. I brainstorm with Claude (voice mode because I’m not an insanely fast typer), then I use my favorite technique—the reverse sitemap method—starting from the final user outcome and working backwards to the landing page. For UI, I don’t design from scratch; I steal/get inspired (Godly, Land-book, Mobbin), use v0 when I need speed, and generate hero images/illustrations with Gemini (Nano Banana). Before I code, I create three docs: user stories, an architecture overview, and a component inventory. Then it’s build time: Next.js + shadcn/ui + Supabase + Vercel. I use Claude Code and Coder CLI, supercharged with MCPs like GitHub MCP and Context7 for up-to-date docs. I also share the tactics that stop AI from wrecking your repo: a claude.md context file, frequent checkpoints/commits, and my “explain then fix” rule. And yes—AI still struggles with complex state, performance, and nuanced business logic, so your clarity in planning is the real speed boost.
