In this video I’m checking out the Zoom TKL Dyna, a brand new custom board from Meletrix that builds on the older Zoom stuff (like the Zoom75) but looks way more refined in my opinion. The design is cleaner and more modern, the back grill has this mirrored finish that looks super cool, and the case has a nice curvature that makes it feel more premium. You also get a crazy 15 color options, and my favorite is easily the clear polycarbonate version—especially once the underglow is on. The four LED light strips underneath add a ton of personality if you like a little ambience on your desk. Customization is where this board goes hard. You can pick between four mounting styles, multiple dampening materials, six plate options, and even two PCB styles (flex cuts vs no flex cuts). The knob and screen are also swappable, and the screen actually blends into the build really nicely without being too flashy—plus you can throw system stats, logos, or animations on it. I also talk about the build experience: the ball catch system makes it screwless and super easy to open, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the ribbon cables (I’d rather have JST). The upside is you get an insane 8000Hz polling rate for lower latency, which is great for gaming—still not quite Hall effect “instant,” but a really nice middle ground with mechanical switch feel. I built two configs and preferred the BSUN Maple Sugar setup because the sound is more present, and it shows how much one change can shift the whole typing experience.
