About This Video

In this video I tested the Nuphy Kick75, a 75% keyboard that’s trying to solve a problem we all know: you usually have to pick either standard profile or low profile, and then you’re locked in. The whole concept here is “why not both?”—so I went through what you get in the box, the retro 8-bit/N64-inspired design, and the feature set like tri-mode connectivity (USB-C, Bluetooth, 2.4GHz), Mac/Windows support, and the corner multi-function knob. For the actual typing experience, I used the low-profile Nano switches (Nuphy x Gateron) and was honestly surprised: they feel smooth, lightly tactile, and the board has a deep, thocky sound that’s rare for low profile. Stabilizers were tuned well too, and the spacebar sounded great—only backspace felt like it could use extra love. Battery life was strong for me (around 280 hours without RGB, ~60 with RGB), and 1000Hz on wired/2.4GHz is solid for average use. But the big takeaway: the “dual profile” conversion is a pain. Swapping profiles means full disassembly, dealing with short/delicate cables (I even broke a connector), and you also need separate switches/keycaps that aren’t included. If you want it mainly for profile swapping, I can’t recommend it—but as a fun, great-sounding, great-looking board in one configuration, it’s genuinely solid.
