About This Video

This week I did a full-time takeover in our BrickLink store here in Wellington — basically 9 to 5 (and then some) to answer the question people always ask: is it actually worth selling on BrickLink full time? I tracked everything as I went: hours worked, items sorted, lots uploaded, value added, and how many orders we could actually pick and pack while still trying to grow the store. Along the way I showed our real workflow — part type first (not colour), BrickStore consolidating, building a pick path, and why I’m always trying to balance item count with higher-value uploads. We also picked up a pretty wild 10kg Marketplace haul that straight up stunk, so there was a lot of cleaning and testing (yes, vinegar soak included) before it could even come near the store. Mid-week I parted out some super cheap polybags that turned into a 10x upload, and later we ran a 20% off sale to clear space because we’re getting close to capacity. By the end of the 40 hours, we added $1,151.97 of stock (6,795 items across 694 lots), processed 21 orders worth $1,432, and landed around $650 gross profit for the week. The big takeaway: sorting and uploading is doable — the real limiter for “full time” is consistent orders.
