This vlog is a proper behind-the-scenes look at what a “growth spurt” month looks like for us here at Kiwi Brick Exchange in Wellington. We kick things off in full go mode with a stack of orders (including one absolutely ridiculous pick: 2,642 items across 379 lots) while I’m also juggling 3D prints, light box prototypes, and the usual BrickStore uploading headaches. May slowdown? Not in our store—uploading consistently over the last couple of weeks has clearly helped, and it was awesome seeing orders from people who found us through YouTube. Because the sales volume has been so strong, the big theme of this episode is storage and pick-path survival. We were genuinely running out of space, so I reorganised the room, added new organisers, built shelving for the wardrobe, and did the “squish method” to hide expansion while actually adding capacity—by my rough calcs, about 30,000 parts worth. I also talk through why I like certain drawer systems (flexible dividers for odd-sized parts), why having sorted used bulk as a backup plan saves you when inventory is off, and how re-labelling locations is a slow, manual process I’d love better tips for. We finish the month with another massive batch to pick (427 lots / ~1,200 items), plus a reminder that shipping companies could learn a thing or two from BrickLink sellers.
