About This Video

This week in the store I made a pretty big change to the layout — and yes, it had to go through the ā€œapproval processā€ with wifey first. The big win was rotating the shelving so we’re not blocking off that corner light anymore. It doesn’t look like much on camera, but when you’re trying to identify colours while picking and sorting, natural light matters. The new setup opens up a corner for extra shelving, gives us a proper ā€œoversized wallā€, and honestly makes the room feel way less cramped (plus it’ll be a nicer filming background too). After that, things got a bit wild — we went and picked up what I’m basically treating as buying another BrickLink store… just without the XML file. Around 40–45kg of already part-type-sorted LEGO, heaps of minifigs, accessories, helmets, and bulk. The first 24 hours of uploading had about $11,000 of value added, but it also highlighted the same old problem: space. I talk through how I tackle a haul this size (Star Wars minifigs first, then animals, then part-type bags), how I use BrickLink and BrickStore to identify likely sets/rare parts, and we finish the week with some awesome orders — including a big 700-piece pick that finally cleared some locations so we can keep expanding.
