About This Video

This week’s vlog is a proper behind-the-scenes look at what it actually takes to keep our BrickLink store moving when the orders stack up. I start the week doing a bit of a store reshuffle because space is at a premium (we’ve been clearing out the old place), and parting out sets gets pretty painful when the desk is cramped. We had a massive weekend of orders—around 130 lots and roughly 1,300 items—so I walk through how I pick, how I keep things accurate, and why I’ve basically stopped picking multiple orders at once unless it’s tiny. For me, fixing mistakes costs more time (and money) than walking the drawers an extra time. I also show our packing setup: pre-printing labels with a secondhand Brother label printer, using recycled postage bags (same sizing as NZ Post bags), and when I do (and don’t) use bubble wrap. Most orders go in snaplock bags with a business card for a bit of support, and we’ve had no complaints—people actually tell us the packaging is awesome. On the sorting side, I’m digging through used bulk, pulling out vintage space bits, minifigure parts, and even a “maybe” classic space helmet that could be a big win if it checks out. There are wins and there are messy hauls too (sun damage and cracked torsos), but I show how I think about risk, value, and keeping lot count moving by uploading quick wins like big plates.
