About This Video

This week’s vlog is a proper behind-the-scenes look at how I run Kiwi Brick Exchange here in Wellington, New Zealand, and I set myself a slightly ridiculous goal: upload 10,000 used LEGO parts in a single week (no “easy mode” part-outs of new sets). I walk through how I keep the desk set up with parts already in lot type (same part + same colour), alphabetised by colour, so when I’m using BrickStore it’s as efficient as possible. The reality though? Uploading at that scale is a grind—counting, bagging in 50s/100s for easy picking, and trying to keep momentum while still doing orders and family life. The week gets even better (and more chaotic) when I grab a big Marketplace tub and start pulling out the good stuff: animals, Star Wars, Harry Potter, potential CMFs, and heaps of minifigure parts. There are some awesome little wins—like high-value slopes and a camel that’s worth real money—but also the usual frustrations like sun damage/playwear and BrickStore’s recognise function running slow. We finish the week hitting the 10,000 upload target, seeing sales reflect it with a stack of orders coming in, then head north to visit Dad’s Brick Army to check out his expanding setup, talk sorting systems, and have a classic “where are those parts?” BrickLink moment.
