About This Video

This week’s vlog is a proper “bit of everything” one: LEGO deals, heaps of used bulk sorting, orders going out, and yes… an earthquake right in the middle of it. I take you behind the scenes of our BrickLink store here in Wellington and show how we’re working through the backlog from the move—clearing space, getting our organisers tucked away, and sorting used bulk into categories (slopes, arches, plates, bricks etc.) so it’s actually efficient to part out later. I also show why we fill a container first and then part it out, rather than trying to list pieces one-by-one straight from a messy tub. I also talk through some of the reality of doing this part-time: some weeks the “real job” wins, and the sorted mess sits on the desk for days. We still had solid orders come through (including BrickOwl), and I share a key takeaway I’ve noticed—when you upload even “boring” lots like slopes, people get notifications, hit your store, and suddenly a wanted-list order turns into a $50 cart. To finish off, I run through how I look for LEGO deals (new clearance sets and used bulk on Trade Me): checking BrickLink part-out value, lots added, what’s actually declining, and what clues in photos/descriptions tell me a bulk lot is worth my time.
