About This Video

In this episode of my “learning pottery in 30 days” series, I’m taking you through what my actual day-to-day looked like as a (very food-obsessed) pottery student in Jingdezhen. It’s a stitched-together stretch from my final rest day through days 15–26, so you’ll see the rhythm of showing up, working, eating, recovering, and then doing it all over again. Also: I owe you an apology if you’re a headphone user—my in-camera stereo was kind of messed up, so this one is definitely better without headphones. If you’re a potter who’s curious about Jingdezhen, I made this to give you a real glimpse into the pace and environment—less “perfect montage,” more honest apprenticeship energy. The big takeaway is that progress comes from consistency: you keep going back to the studio, you keep practicing, and you let the small milestones stack up. Jingdezhen meant a lot to me this summer, and I hope following along helps you understand why this place (and the people and pottery culture here) feels so special.
