Countdown to my last day at pottery school in Jingdezhen, China, and my final day in Jingdezhen. I show you my last days of class: squeezing in as much practice as possible, and bringing my pieces to the stage where, at last, they’ll be glazed-fired. Then, I take you along with me on my well-deserved vacation days in Jingdezhen, exploring all the sites I didn’t get to see yet, and getting to be a bit of a tourist. About This Video

These are my last days as a pottery student in Jingdezhen, and I filmed it like a little countdown: Day 27 through Day 30 (my final day of class). I’m basically trying to squeeze every last drop out of studio time—throwing and practicing as much as I can, then finally getting my pieces to the point where they’re ready to go into glaze firing. It’s that very specific end-of-term feeling where you’re tired, excited, and suddenly hyper-aware that every session is “the last one.” After class wraps, I give myself a well-deserved mini vacation in Jingdezhen and do the tourist things I kept putting off while I was in apprentice mode. I take you with me to the Ceramics Museum, a creative market, and then Imperial Kiln Park on my last day in the city. It’s part studio vlog, part goodbye tour—closing out this chapter while showing you the places that make Jingdezhen feel like the ceramics capital it is.
