In this video I’m trying out the Too Good To Go app with two Co-op breakfast surprise bags, to see if it’s actually worth it (and what you really get for your money). If you’re not familiar, Too Good To Go lets you buy discounted “surprise bags” from businesses with surplus food, so it doesn’t end up going to waste. I love the ethos of less food waste, so I wanted to give a hot breakfast pickup a proper go. I collected one bag from a smaller Co-op and another from a larger Co-op in a different town, and both were around £2 each (I pop the exact amounts on screen). The app is really straightforward: you pay in advance, then you collect within a strict time window—if you miss it, you can still be charged and not get a bag, so do bear that in mind. In the first bag I got two packs of breakfast hash browns plus a bacon bap and a sausage bap. In the second bag I had another bacon bap, a sausage bap, and a giant sausage roll (labelled £2 on its own), all still warm and smelling amazing. Overall, for about £4 I ended up with a really decent haul, and it felt like a win—good value and far better than food being chucked away. I’m more of a granola-and-yogurt breakfast person, so I’m sharing these with friends and family, but I’d absolutely try more bags (especially M&S) and do more reviews.
