Today I’m sharing toy rotation tips that have helped encourage independent play in our home, along with how I organize our play space to keep it calm and inviting. After simplifying our toys, I’ve noticed deeper focus, more creativity, and longer independent play — especially when we prioritize toys that truly last and grow with our child. I’m also sharing why the Lovevery subscription has helped remove so much mental load for me as a parent, from not having to research toys to avoiding overbuying things that don’t get used. This video is all about intentional play, rotating toys with purpose, and creating meaningful spaces that support your child’s confidence and curiosity — without pressure or perfection. Bonus perk happening right now: When you sign up for a new Lovevery subscription, you'll receive a $50 credit by email to use in the Lovevery Sub Shop. This is perfect for adding something extra (like a Bath Set or Play Gym!) About This Video

In this video I’m sharing the toy rotation tips that have genuinely helped encourage independent play in our house, plus exactly how I organize our play space so it stays calm and inviting. I’ve been doing a weekly rotation since Alice was about 9 months old, and I’ve found that the simpler the space is, the longer play you get. When there’s less out, she plays longer, with more focus, and it feels so much more intentional (and honestly, less overwhelming for everyone). I walk you through my setup: we don’t have a toy room, so I turned a closet into a toy rotation closet with six bins for six different rotations. I divide toys up evenly so each week has a mix—imaginative play, puzzles, music, building, and usually one kids board game. Then on Saturday mornings, I swap week one for week two, and it’s easy for my husband to do, too. I also share my other big tip: I set a timer and intentionally play first (no phone) to model how to use the toys, then I set a timer for independent play. This video is also sponsored by Lovevery, and I show the Storyteller Kit—open-ended pieces like the play tent, puppets, and even a working spray mop that have been such a hit for imaginative play.
