It’s vlogmas week 1 and, if you’re anything like me and you put off getting festive until the 1st of December… today’s our day. I’m properly leaning into the festive spirit: Christmas music on, advent calendar opened (honestly the best part of Christmas), and Lyle and I head out for our little tradition of picking a real Christmas tree. We also pick up a new sofa from Facebook Marketplace (our old one was basically a tiny loveseat and not the comfiest), and I’m so happy with how snug and cosy the flat feels already. Back at home, I get into decorating — setting up my Christmas village and sharing a super easy little centrepiece idea using a pre-lit IKEA garland wrapped into a wreath with candle holders (it looks so cute at night once the tapered candles are in). I also chat a bit more honestly about something that’s been on my mind lately: comparing myself in my 20s and with YouTube, and how I’m trying to remind myself that everyone’s on a different path. To finish, I do a festive little haul, try some cosy Aelfric Eden pieces, and bake gingerbread using a new recipe (with a proper chill time for the dough). It’s a long, cosy one — basically a full-on Christmas reset to get us into the mood together.
