About This Video

Well guys, I finally did it—I finally got my hands on my dream GPU: the RTX 3060 Ti, specifically the Gigabyte AORUS Elite. This is one of those cards that’s been absolutely plagued with scalpers, price hikes, and shortages, so getting it into my main PC build felt like a huge win. In the video I walk through my initial thoughts on why I chose this model (better temps than some options like Zotac, clean design, RGB, and a factory overclock), and then I show the actual install: pulling out my old GTX 1650 and dropping the 3060 Ti into the PCIe slot, screwing it down, and hooking up the PCIe power cables. After I installed it, I did notice some GPU sag, so I talk about why that matters and how I’m planning to fix it soon—because you really don’t want the weight of the cooler bending your card over time. I’ve also been running this setup for a couple weeks, and honestly it pairs way better than I expected with my older Ryzen 5 1600. I was worried about bottlenecking, but as far as I can tell it’s been totally fine. The big takeaway: compared to my 1650, the 3060 Ti is just on another planet—more VRAM, way more CUDA cores, ray tracing, and overall it’s that “down the middle of the road” price-to-performance card that’s a no-brainer if you’ve got the budget.
