About This Video

In this LightBurn tutorial, I’m showing you how to add a “stroke” look to letters—basically how to thicken text in LightBurn—even though LightBurn doesn’t have a true Stroke option like Photoshop. The good news is you can still get thicker lettering, and I walk through three different methods so you can pick the one that fits the font you’re using. First, I show a quick and simple trick: stretching the text from the side. With some thinner fonts, this thickens the letters without totally ruining the look, but it won’t be perfect for every font. Second, I cover the Bold option in LightBurn. If your font supports it, it’s an easy one-click way to make everything thicker—but some fonts just don’t have Bold available. Finally, I show my most flexible method: using the Offset tool. I demonstrate duplicating the text to compare before/after, setting a small outward offset (like 0.1), choosing round corners, and using “delete original objects” so you’re left with the thicker version only.
