I also cover a huge mistake that makes dogs tune you out: repeating commands. From there, I level up your training using the 3 D’s (duration, distance, distractions) in places like your backyard, hallway, or parking lot, and I explain how food can be used as a distraction—not as a reward. Finally, I take the training into new environments, starting low-distraction and building up, using a long leash for safety and freedom, and keeping sessions short (5–10 minutes) to avoid overwhelm.
