Drain. Cook green pepper in fat in large frying pan until tender. Blend in flour and add other ingredients. Simmer 5 minutes to thicken. Add salt and pepper. Add noodles and simmer 10 minutes longer. SAUSAGE WITH SWEET POTATO AND APPLE 1/2lb sausage 2 medium sweet potatoes 3 medium sized apples 1/2 tsp salt 1 Tbsp flour 2 Tbsp sugar 1/2c cold water 1 Tbsp sausage drippings Cut link sausage into 1/2" pieces. Fry until done. If bulk sausage is used, shape it into small balls before or break it up as it cooks. Sliced pared potatoes and apples. Mix salt, flour, and sugar together and blend with cold water. Arrange layers of potatoes, apples, and sausage in a baking dish, pouring flour-sugar mixture over each layer. Top with apples and sausage, and add drippings. Cover; bake at 375 until apples and potatoes are tender, about 45 minutes. SCOTCH MEAT PATTIES 3/4lb ground beef 1/3c milk 3/4c quick cooking oats salt, pepper 2 Tbsp cooking fat or oil 1c water 1/4c chopped celery 1/4c chopped green pepper 1/4c chopped onion 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce 1 Tbsp flour Combine meat, milk, oats, 1 tsp salt and pepper. Make very thin patties; brown on both sides in the fat or oil in a frying pan. Add water and vegetables; season with Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Cook covered over low heat for 30 minutes.
