for this year's mental health awareness day, @jadiefilm and i did some sweet, re-centring yoga in the morning sunrise, gymmed out a little together, and ate some hong kong dim sum and my favourite ba zhangs, and we had some sweet ice coffee and yuan yang (coffee-tea). the past month, there were many days i felt unmotivated, doubtful of my capabilities, confused and overwhelmingly embarrassed. these feelings made me feel stressed and anxious. as a post-graduate, not many people open up about the mental impact of the mentally strenuous job-hunting phase, and i hope to be someone that can show you that all these thoughts and feelings are completely normal - if not healthy! i have learned that a degree of stress or anxiety isn't necessarily a bad sign - it can sometimes be a great positive indicator that we are motivated and excited about pursuing an opportunity in life. it means you're doing something you care deeply about. it also means you're out of your comfort zone = learning and growing! you've got this and i believe in you. yoga helps me to strengthen the part of my brain that plays a key role in awareness, attention and thought. it helps me to calm my mind down, to focus on the present moment, stretches further and breathe deeply. exercise is my go-to ritual that helps me to boost my physical and mental energy, enhances my well-being with the release of some feel-good chemicals called endorphins, and being disciplined in this area has made me so much more effective in many other aspects of my life. food is my fuel for my body to do amazing things, and show me some of the wonders of the flavours on this planet. i have never regretted a workout, doing yoga, treating myself to food I love, waking up early - these are the tiny things in my power to help me feel present, incredible and energised. it's an absolute honour to have the gift to think actively, and move actively, every day. our bodies and minds are powerful vessels that let us human beings to our greatest work that help others. hope this video inspires you to seize the day! love you all x find us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jadieeewong644 https://instagram.com/cherie.paw subscribe to us on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCO-WhODGqMBcgMRo41rhopA/featured https://www.youtube.com/cheriepaw

About This Video

In this video, I’m bringing you along for a super wholesome, relaxing, healing day because I’ve been honestly… really stressed. It’s Mental Health Awareness Day (for NUS students), it’s 5:44am, and I’m just being upfront: the job-hunting phase has been a lot—confusion, rejection, ghosting, self-doubt, and that constant discomfort of pitching yourself and putting “open to work” out there. I talk through how weird and awkward it can feel when some friends already have jobs, and you’re not even sure who to talk to without making it stressful for them too. To cope, I lean hard into the small things that are in my control: moving my body, getting outside early, and doing little rituals that make me feel present. I do a quick GRWM (skincare + makeup), share what I’ve been learning as I “adult” (personal finance, data analytics, taking better care of my stuff), then meet my friend for sunrise yoga with headphones and that stunning Singapore skyline. After that, we gym a bit and I chat about how discipline with exercise helps my mental energy and focus—especially when job hunting feels mind-boggling. My biggest takeaway: if you’re feeling anxious during job hunting, you’re not broken. It’s uncomfortable because you’re growing, and you don’t have to do it alone—get your friends by your side, and take care of yourself in tiny, consistent ways.
