Today’s vlog is literally my birthday hair makeover, and I brought you along for the full salon experience—hair colouring + treatment + styling—at Cote Mi Nam in Bugis. I went in super excited because I really look up to Korean technology for hair care (and skincare), and I’ve seen so many good reviews about their colouring and treatments. Once my stylist assessed my hair, he was honestly concerned because it was “dried to the core,” so we focused on improving hydration and overall hair health instead of pushing anything too light or too drying. While my colour was processing, I was just living my best life in the cutest corner seat with snacks and water (so sweet), Korean songs playing, and the whole space felt floral, chill, and genuinely comfortable. I also had such a fun, real chat with the stylist about cultures, Netflix documentaries, science, psychology, and even social media’s impact—like it didn’t feel awkward or overly formal at all. The best part: the final result. My hair came out silky smooth, insanely soft, and so hydrated I genuinely asked if this is what hair is supposed to feel like. The waves made me feel like I was going to a party (so unlike me), and even tying it up looked cute instead of my usual “seaweed” situation. They even gave me flowers at the end, which was such a thoughtful birthday touch.
