I hope you have had a wonderful summer (if you live in the Northern Hemisphere!). I've not had an opportunity to create many videos, but I have been hard at work in the sewing room nonetheless. I've been finishing projects and learning to use my new sewing machine. It's a great feeling to have some many projects finished.... and space (in my sewing room and in my brain) for new projects. About This Video

In this video I’m sharing “what I did on my summer vacation,” and spoiler alert: it was a whole lot of finishing. I haven’t had many chances to film lately, but I’ve been busy in the sewing room tying up loose ends from past projects, quilting like mad, and making space (in my room and in my brain) for whatever’s next. I also want to say a big thank you to Eva for meeting me for breakfast while Jason and I were traveling on the east coast of Canada—now I’ve got a sweet little memento on my sewing room door. I take you outside for better lighting and walk through a stack of almost-finished and newly-finished quilts: my reworked Fat Quarter Four Patch test block (because I really love a good chain through a quilt), two quilt guild community projects where I added the quilting, and a finished table topper that was perfect for breaking in my new machine. I also talk about learning my new Brother after my Juki broke—what I love, what I miss, and how tricky it is to find that “Goldilocks” speed without a speed control. Then it’s personal finishes (Four Patch Trellis and my scrappy blue pineapple) and a whole parade of quilts I quilted for my mom—Hills and Valleys, Disappearing Nine Patch, Carpenter’s Wheel, and a tumbling blocks—mostly with my favourite quick all-over meander for that gorgeous texture.
