In this video I’m taking you along on a quilt walk in the forest—literally quilts hanging among the trees on a gorgeous autumn day here in Ottawa. Jason and I just got back from the Mad About Patchwork Forest Walk of Quilts, and it was one of those calm, inspiring outings that fills your creative cup. Jason had his camera on a gimbal and I grabbed photos, so you’ll see the quilts from our walk the way we experienced them. I kept my narration really limited on purpose because I wanted the beauty of the quilts and the forest to speak for themselves. Think warm autumn sunshine, colourful leaves, and quilt after quilt providing that “I want to go sew right now” kind of inspiration. If you love colour play, texture, and seeing quilts in the wild (instead of just on a design wall), this one is a relaxing little reset—and a reminder that quilts are meant to be enjoyed.
