I’ve been on a bit of a low buy, but I still picked up a few fragrances over the summer—so this video is my September 2023 perfume haul. These aren’t full reviews (because some of these I haven’t even worn on my skin yet), but I do go through what I bought, the notes, and my first impressions—especially around the lavender/vanilla scents I tend to gravitate toward. I start with Beauty Pie, including their limited edition Le Smash Santal, and I’m just going to be honest: the packaging looks cheap to me, and on first spray it’s coming across really crisp and lavender-forward in a way I’m not loving (and not giving me that creamy sandalwood I expected). I also talk about the Beauty Pie Scent Lab sampler set and why $26 felt a little steep for samples—plus the vanilla option reminded me a lot of Billie Eilish’s vanilla perfume. Then we get into some really gorgeous fall-leaning picks: YSL Libre L’Absolu Platine (sparkly aldehydes + lavender), Burberry Goddess (mostly vanilla with a hint of lavender), Solstice Scents Iced Nectar (sweet, strong, and long-lasting), Estée Lauder Infinite Sky (deep, sultry resinous vanilla vibes), and Armani Privé Santal Dan Sha (a deeper, woodsy take that can scratch that Santal 33 itch). I also share how I’m thinking about future fragrance content since I have 400+ scents and can organize them by type or by brand.
