Hey friends—today’s video is a chatty “let’s try new makeup” moment, and yes… I’m dealing with the biggest pimple right on the tip of my nose, plus some leftover dermatitis. I’m also coming back after being MIA because I’m in the military, and my busy season runs Memorial Day through Veterans Day—so now that we’re past that, I can finally sit down, put makeup on, and just talk with you. I test the Estée Lauder Futurist Peptide Serum Primer and the Futurist Skin Tint Serum Foundation, and I share how these serum-y bases can look great at first on my dry skin… and then later start emphasizing dryness if your skin “drinks” the moisture and leaves pigment sitting on top. I also get into the current state of YouTube and why I personally don’t love content that feels like it’s just selling, selling, selling. I’m really trying to keep my videos genuine—trying products because I’m curious, not because a brand wants to guarantee a positive review. Makeup-wise, I attempt some redness correction with The Saem, set everything with my tried-and-true Laura Mercier powder, do brows with Beauty Pie, and then we get into the main event: Rabanne eye products (including a glossy situation that I swear always creases) and the Polite Society blush palette… which, for me, ends up looking textured and not cosmetically elegant.
